Home workouts

@KaylaItsines

At home workouts have really changed my fitness game. Before I was struggling to find time to go to the gym but right now, since these at home workouts are only 30 minutes, I have plenty of time plus I’m being more consistent, I workout 4 times a week vs the previous two.

We already knew that fitness in general makes ourselves feeling way better. It is proven to restore and improve body, soul and mind. In my daily life I usually worked out for a maximum of 2 times a week. I did a mix of gym workouts, walking in my neighborhood and at home workouts. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do more because of my super busy life and work schedule. In this lockdown period, since I had a lot of time to dedicate to myself, I decided to focus on activities that I always loved and adore, that I hadn’t much time to dedicate to, such as working out, blogging and improving my German, Chinese and Russian language skills.

GOOD FOR YOUR MIND

About fitness, i can tell you guys that what science said about it is completely true.. working out is what helped me go through this hard period without having a breakdown. I’m not joking, it just saved my body (because I haven’t gained weight hhahaha), my soul (because today, after two months I feel a different yet better person) and mind (because it helped me in moments where I felt nervous and sad).

BEST AT HOME WORKOUTS

In this post, I wanted to share with you, the workouts I followed during this lockdown. I usually do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts every other day and in the days in the middle I usually go out for a 30-40 mins walk (in this way i workout 5 times a week) and  Saturday and Sunday are my rest days.

On Saturday i like to do yoga or pilates stretching because it helps my muscles to recover and I feel it helps my soul as well because meditation helps your mind and is what is helping me keeping myself motivated.

Here below I listed some of my favorite fitness gurus i followed.

YOU TUBE CHANNELS TO FOLLOW

Kayla Itsines.

She is my fitness queen. I have followed her BBG (Bikini Body Guide) since high school and it really changed my body. you can find her guide on line or on her blog (link here). I really recommend you to follow her on IG because she uploads other workouts that are not on her guide. In addition, she shares a lot of before and after pictures of her followers that are so inspirational and motivating. (Kayla IG profile here).

I really wish she could start her own You Tube channel one day!

Popsugar.

this You Tube channel is amazing.. you have at your disposal tons of workout, wether it is Hiit workout, pilates, boxing of yoga, you can find it in only one place. Also I enjoyed so much working out with them live on the tv. The instructor doing workouts with you helps you to remain motivated through all workout. Also at the same time they show you each exercise in beginner or advanced version so even if you are not trained, you can easily accomplish the workout.

Mr. and Mrs muscles.

I love this couple so much, they also have a You Tube channeland they provide a lot of different Hiit workouts. Their videos are very well done, short but super effective. They show the beginner version of every exercise as well. I also love to follow them on instagram because they upload the preview of their new workout so you decided if you like it or not. (IG link here)

Pamela Reif.

I love her. Her workouts are short but i swear they are suuuuuper intense. I especially love doing her abs and booty workouts (YT channel link here), they are amazing. I follow her also on instagram (link here)because she uploads very useful fit recipes. Don’t forget that it is 80% nutrition and 20% workout.

In this post I talk about my body improvements after following her home workouts!

Angela Kayo

She is my last, but not least, fitness guru. After Pamela Reif she is my favorite at the moment. Her workouts are well studied. In fact, she is a certified fitness coach and a nutritionist – as we can see it well from her amazing body-.
What I love the most about her workouts is that she adds a short pause (usually 10 seconds) between each movement.

In addition, she publishes on her IG account her weekly workout plans divided into arms, abs, booty and cardio days.

APPLE FITNESS +

Apple Fitness+ is a platform/app from Apple that allows you to be able to do lots of fitness activities at home as well as giving you lots of information regarding your daily goals, calories consumed etc by connecting it to your Apple Watch.

Since the day I received my Apple Watch is the BEST fitness app I could have ever subscribed to.

IN ADDITION

Also, in addition to these workouts I also did the 30 Day-Plank Challenge from Kayla because I wanted to focus even more on my core that is the less strong part of my body.

If you workout a lot but eat junk food, you are wasting your time working out.

My last recommendation is to vary your workouts. Don’t do always the same thing because you feel confident with it, you should push your self to the limit. You have to challenge yourself otherwise your muscles get used to those exercises and they won’t be effective anymore.
