All this will seem in feasible in one day, but having visited Florence over and over again, I have grouped for you all the most important things you need to do if you have little time to spend in this wonderful city.

WHAT TO DO IN FLORENCE IN 24 HOURS

If you want to immerse yourself 100% in art surely one day will not be enough. There is to consider that almost an entire day will be spent at the Uffizi. But if it is short on time this guide will do for you to be able to give you a way to see and do the most important things in Florence.

If you arrive in Florence by train, you will save most of the time since it will take you directly to the center of the city.In fact, the Santa Maria novella station is located just a stone’s throw away from the city’s Duomo. Therefore, the first step I recommend you take in this city is just to visit the Duomo. It’s always a huge thrill for me to see it because it feels like I’m reliving in the nineteenth century.A city that is still authentic just the way it was in the time of Michelangelo and Brunelleschi.

WHAT TO VISIT

In this section, one cannot fail to include the “Uffizi Gallery,” a huge concentration of Art. The “home” of Raffaello, Michelangelo and Brunelleschi.
I recommend devoting the bulk of your day for this visit as it will take time given the vastness of the gallery.
Ps. Comfortable shoes are a must and Remember to buy your ticket online otherwise you will stand in an endless line!

If you have more time and are a fashion lover, I highly recommend visiting the Gucci Museum. An immersion in the history of the great Florentine fashion house is granted.

Other things to do in Florence is visiting Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. Palazzo Vecchio is located in Piazza della Signoria and is the seat of the City Council. It represents the best synthesis of the city’s 14th-century civil architecture.

The Ponte Vecchio is a bridge that spans the Arno River in Florence. It is a truly picturesque tiny street. you will feel like you are walking through a painting from the 1800s. Also, the feature of this street is that it is the best place to buy jewelry pieces. Its historic stores are the best in the business.

WHAT TO EAT

A small paragraph of a post would not be enough to discuss this topic, but I will try to give a detailed summary. If you are not vegan or vegetarian, you absolutely must have a T-bone steak a la Fiorentina.
A great place to have a delicious one is: “Trattoria Dall’Oste”. As you can see from the photos, the meat had the consistency of butter and a unique flavor.

Clearly, Tuscan red wine is a guarantee. Maybe I couldn’t recommend one because they are all really spacey. Surely in the various places they will know how to recommend the ideal one to go with your chosen food.
Next to try is the Lampredotto sandwich. Lampredotto is a typical Florentine street food, a unique historical recipe. It is veal abomasum, the fourth stomach of the calf, and is part of the tripe family. It is served in a soft bun with salsa verde or even just with salt, oil and a pinch of spicy for those who like it.

Another very good place to try for eating something street food style is, “All’Antico Vinaio.” A place that offers very good stuffed Tuscan schiacciate ( typical Tuscan white pizza). The choice is really hard because they are all very good but I personally recommend you to get the ones with typical Tuscan products.

WHERE TO SHOP IN FLORENCE

I’ll start right away by telling you that when I visit Florence, shopping is never my main activity. Rather as a good Italian I focus on food! LOL
However, last time I went to Florence for my birthday and my boyfriend’s birthday. Therefore, we indulged in a nice shopping session to choose our birthday gift.

Without even thinking about it, as I told you previously, as far as jewelry shopping is concerned, it absolutely must be done in Ponte Vecchio.
This year, however, we were more focused on luxury shopping. In this case, the main street is “Via Degli Strozzi.” A long street in the historic center of Florence composed of major luxury brands.

I finally snagged a beautiful Dior ring that had been on my wishlist for a long time. I’ll show you in a next post.

Florence is a city that deserves to be visited as much as you can. Each time is a new discovery, a new emotion and a new experience. Sometimes, after a hectic time I love to get lost and relax in this city of art. I hope this guidebook: What To Do In Florence In 24 Hours will help you.
What about you, what do you love to do in Florence?
