I don’t know if you already know it, but I am attending a masters degree in marketing and digital communication. I decided to start this path due to my passion in this field.

And I believe that marketing through its search skills can figure out exactly what people want before they even know it. Thanks to my passion and my current study, I have realized that Pinterest is absolutely an important tool to generate traffic to one’s website or blog.

So keep reading this post to understand how to drive traffic from Pinterest to your blog.

HOW TO DRIVE TRAFFIC FROM PINTEREST TO YOUR BLOG

Now we come to the practical part. There are a few simple rules to follow to get to your goal. The only requirement is that these must be followed with precision and dedication over a long period of time because search engines like Google or Pinterest itself take about six months to notice a blog or site. Therefore, do not be discouraged at first because it takes patience to see results. At the same time, however, once results are achieved they will be long-lasting.

MAKE YOUR PINS STAND OUT

Since the Pinterest feed is topped with images, you need to make sure that your own are easily visible or attention-grabbing. For this, as a first simple step we need to make sure that the images are large. It is recommended to start with images of 600 pixels x infinite. If you use Canvas it will be even easier because it has so many template images for Pinterest.

CATCHY TEXT

As you can imagine Pinterest being a visual board, the visual aspect is of paramount importance. So in addition to using large images, as we said before, and good design, it is absolutely important to include text strategically. It would be best to follow the strategy of the 5Ws: Why What Where When and Who. So that you can give the reader a general primer spurring them to click on the link that leads to your site.

CREATE FRESH NEW PINS

Ideally, 3 to 5 new Pins should be created every day. Then always create new images with different text. I personally always use Canvas for new image creations or sometimes I also use Tailwind templates. They help me a lot to save time and especially to create winning and creative Pins.

SCHEDULE YOUR PINS

Scheduling your Pins automatically will not only help you save time but will allow you, through the use of certain platforms, to figure out the best time to post Pins. Again, I use Tailwind which I think is the best in the industry. It allows me to schedule my posts in advance so that I only have to work on them once and be able to schedule the whole week in advance.

Also because of its technology it is able to advise you at what time it would be best to post Pins based on your audience. It also advises you how many times it would be recommended to publish the same Pin (usually it would be better not to exceed eight times).
