work from home

Simple and effective guide to work from home and be productive, especially during lockdown. Smart working isn’t always a bad idea.

We are struggling with all our strengths against Coronavirus. Unfortunately it is a serious disease that spreads very rapidly among us, among Europe and world . This is why, many of us cannot go to work because of temporary restrictions. Some of us instead – and i would say the lucky ones – have the opportunity to work from home. I think smart working is a great idea and I think companies should take it into account even after this bad period of time.

By the way, many of my friends that are currently smart working and find it really hard to be productive compared to when they were working from office. Mainly, they tend to distract themselves really often at home or procrastinate.

This is why I would like to share with you – and my friends – some of my working from home tips and tricks .

HOW TO WORK FROM HOME AND BE PRODUCTIVE

ROUTINE

It is fundamental to stick to a regular routine. Not joking, it is going to change the game for good!
Exemple: Wake up every morning at the same hour and instantly make your bed – it saves you from going under your sheets again. Have breakfast, do your morning stuff such as walking the dog out, tidy your bedroom, than wash your face, get rid of your pajama. All these process will make you feel awake and ready for your daily work!

DON’T WORK FROM HOME IN YOUR BED and/or BEDROOM

Chose a different room to work. I know, not everyone has an office room but it is fundamental not to work in you bedroom or your bed. IT’S A BIG NONO.

Your brain associate bedroom to your sleeping routine and trust me, you won’t be as concentrated as you would be for example in your office or living room.

STICK TO A TIME SCHEDULE

I personally love starting in the late morning. I’d rather start my day slowly, I love enjoying my breakfast, than I love to have a long walk (usually 40 mins) to shake up my body, that gives me a tons of energy!

But it is very important to stop working at 6 pm. You should work as long as office ours, from 9 am to 6 pm. Then turn off your laptop and just dedicate to yourself. Go to the gym, cook a delicious meal for dinner, play with your kids or just share some time with your husband or boyfriend.

If you work until late, you won’t be productive the next morning, I swear!

STICK TO A WORKING SCHEDULE

Start your working day by answering to mails for example or star by doing difficult or annoying tasks. Then, at the and of the day focus on scheduling you calendar for the next day. I personally love doing a to do list for the day after. It really helps to keep on track.

And last but not least.. AVOID TV, PHONE OR OTHER DISTRACTIONS. Keep your desk super minimal and tidy. The tidier is your desk, the tidier is your mind!

WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS? DO YOU ENJOY WORKING FROM HOME?
