HOW TO MAINTAIN BLOND HAIR

Blonde hair is gorgeous but at the same time it needs super careful and often expensive maintenance. So, if you’re deciding to go blonde, want to get highlights or just a beautiful balayage, keep in mind that you also need to take care of them over time.

The things to do to maintain healthy and strong hair are very simple to do but it is essential to create a routine and try never to skip these few but essential steps because, especially in summer, if we let ourselves go, the sun and its consequent damages will ruin our efforts.

One of the biggest problems you may have is that your hair will become dry and your wonderful color may turn straw yellow or even orange.

In this post, I’m going to reveal what tricks you can use to be able to avoid these unwanted effects.

HEAT

Heat is number one enemy for our hair. Certainly, using flat iron or hair dryer every day damages them terribly. The secret is: yes to blow dryers and straighteners but only on the day we wash our hair. This is because when we wash them, we are used to using products such as oils and / or nourishing and protective serums that will wrap our hair creating a protective film that will defend them from heat.

Either way, remember to ALWAYS use heat protectors before you start using hot tools.

One thing that really helped me was the Dyson Airwrap. Thanks to this I can style my hair without damaging it with extreme heat. It’s a little pricey but totally worth it.

PURPLE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

About once a month you need to use purple shampoo and conditioner, like this one and this one, to revive your blonde color especially if your hair is bleached or colored and if you have a very warm blonde tone (which tends to become orangey). These purple-ish shampoos and conditioners will tone the hair making the color more on the colder side.

Remember not to abuse these products too much because you may have an unwanted effect.

Less is more, always.

WEAR A HAT AT THE BEACH TO MAINTAIN BLOND HAIR

A very useful tip my hairdresser gave me is to tie my hair up and wear a hat whenever I’m at the beach under the sun. We know very well that the sun rays are harmful on our skin but also on our hair. Here, il we use serum or oils with SPF , cover our hair with a hat and tie them can definitely help us to contrast the damage of sun rays. So, by wearing a hat, we will not only protect our hair but also our precious face from premature aging.
Also, I love wearing hats at the beach, I like them in straw material and lately I’m loving so much bucket hats like this one here.

In addition, the hair can also serve to elevate a very basic look. so, in addition to the protective side, they are also very fashionable. Here I will show you how to make an outfit elevated by wearing a hat.

MASK MASK MASK

Do hydrating hair mask once a week. It is very important to maintain a healthy crown. If you have time use oil on dry hair and leave it for half an hour. then wash your hair as usual, towel dry your hair and then use a hair mask for another half hour. Rinse well.

Also here you should not do too many masks, one per week will be necessary, because otherwise we will weaken the hair.

Your hair will thank you later!

DO NOT WASH HAIR TOO OFTEN

Frequent washes may let you hair color fade (other than dehydrating it). Try to wash them every 2 or 3 days and do not use dry shampoo. I explain you why in this post I wrote.

INVEST IN HAIR TOOLS

The best way I spent my money last year has been on a Dyson Air Wrap. Read here the reasons why you should also invest in it.As explained above, heat is the worst enemy for your hair color. Professional, yet gentle tools will style your hair and protect them in just one step.
